What is the difference between a cast copper valve and a cast iron valve

2021-08-18

1. Cast copper valves and cast iron valves are mainly made of different materials, copper is corrosion-resistant, has a long service life, and is more expensive. The difference is several times. Take the gate valve as an example. The copper core means that the smooth sealing surface is copper. For a small circle, DN100 gate valve, that circle is two fingers wide, and the thickness may be 3 mm. Where there is a copper sleeve or iron sleeve, the others are all iron, and the copper valve, except for the screw rod, is all copper.
2. It should be said: Plane cast iron gates include one-way water-stopping cast iron gates and two-way water-stopping cast iron gates. One-way means unilateral water-stopping, and only water-stopping on the front side; two-way water-stopping on both the front and back water surfaces.
Two-way cast iron gates also include two-way arched cast iron gates and two-way flat cast iron gates.
3. The main difference between cast copper valves and cast iron valves is the carbon content, which directly affects the strength and plasticity of the steel. The cast copper valve is also called carbon cast copper, an iron-carbon alloy with a carbon content of less than 2% WC. In addition to carbon, cast copper valves generally contain a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus. According to the purpose, cast iron valves can be divided into three types: carbon structure, carbon tool and free-cutting structure. Hope it helps you.
